According to the regulations of the Hoy no Circula program, vehicles with green stickers and plates ending in 1 or 2 have restrictions on circulation in Mexico City and some municipalities in the State of Mexico from 05:00 to 22:00 hours. Drivers who do not comply with this provision will face fines ranging from 919 to 3,394 pesos, depending on the offense committed.
In the State of Mexico, the program applies in various municipalities such as Atizapán, Ecatepec, Naucalpan, Tultitlán, among others. In Mexico City, it covers all boroughs, including Álvaro Obregón, Gustavo A. Madero, Xochimilco, among others. Only vehicles with a 0 and 00 hologram are exempt from these restrictions, as well as some specific cases.
In the case of vehicles with a 2 hologram, it is prohibited to circulate on Saturdays, including foreign cars with foreign plates, during the hours of 05:00 to 22:00. Also, depending on the numerical ending of the plate and the hologram, specific days are established in which they cannot circulate during the week, from 05:00 to 22:00 hours.
Several cases are exempt from Hoy no Circula, such as agricultural tractors, construction machinery, motorcycles, electric vehicles, emergency vehicles, school transport, among others. Additionally, those with authorization from the Secretary of Mobility are also exempt from these restrictions. It is important to check the status of your vehicle if it has a green sticker to comply with the corresponding provisions.
